Ask Lucasfilm to drop ReedPop for Star Wars Celebration

This week our spotlight is on the connection between Star Wars Celebration and the data sharing and surveillance network that invades our privacy and enables ICE's cruel agenda.

Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm’s official fan convention, is produced by ReedPop, a subsidiary of RELX. RELX also owns LexisNexis, which has sold ICE access to its Accurint data platform since 2021. Accurint pulls together records from thousands of sources, from jail bookings to vehicle registrations, to build detailed profiles that help ICE locate people. This summer, ICE moved to keep buying LexisNexis data under a new deal requiring that it feed into Palantir’s platform.

Fans have launched a #StarWarsDivest petition calling on Lucasfilm to drop ReedPop. Lucasfilm chooses who produces its flagship fan event, and with Star Wars turning 50, there’s no better time for it to choose a partner that isn’t profiting from mass surveillance and ICE cruelty.

Click below to urge Lucasfilm to reconsider its partnership with ReedPop. Just add your name and city, then hit send. Or draft your own message and send it to publicrelations@lucasfilm.com.

Thanks for taking action!
