ICE atrocities aren't inevitable.

In July 2025, Congressional Republicans passed a sweeping budget reconciliation bill that included $175.6B for immigration and border enforcement, including $45B just for ICE detention capacity. A second bill signed in June 2026 added $52.5B more in immigration-specific funding. Add in existing agency budgets and immigration-related spending by other departments, and Congress and federal agencies have committed at least $268.9B to immigration enforcement through 2029, according to the National Priorities Project.

With so much money behind this destructive agenda, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless. But pressure campaigns from consumers, community members, and employees have led to the cancellation of ICE contracts and meaningfully slowed the implementation of some of the most inhumane mass detention plans.

ICE scrapped plans to convert warehouses to ICE camps in several cities.
